Title: Malarial Malawi
Region: Southern Africa
Countries: Malawi

My Rating (out of 100): 50

Sorry I have been out of touch with responding to personal e-mails. They will continue to accumulate in my inbox for a while, as Malawi isn't really on the internet superhighway yet, and it's hard to find and very pricey (about $20/hour).

However, everything else about Malawi is absolutely charming and it's my favorite country so far in Africa. Except for my recent case of Malaria. It's ok though, I'm cured now and my anti-malarial pills (Latrium) seemed to keep the worst symptoms at bay. I only had a bit of a fever.

We spent a lot of time in a place called Nakata Bay on Lake Malawi which is stunning and a nice "break" from Africa is some ways. We also did a five-day Kayak trip around two islands, Chizamulu and Likoma, on Lake Malawi which was superb.

I am now in Lilongwe, the capital, and will be heading down to see Victoria Falls in Zambia tomorrow via Lasaka, the capital.

I have lots to write about Malawi, but it'll have to wait until I reach affordable internet again.

Cheers,

Jonathan
