Hey, guess what?

It's Thai new year...2555...and Nepali New year...2055. Good stuff eh?

I arrived back in Bangkok yesterday to see the wildest party I've seen in my life...and it goes for 3 days. You have 5 million Bangkok residents armed with super-soakers, buckets of water and talc running around spraying and painting everyone. All night long everyone's dancing in the streets of Koa San Road and getting wet in the 37 degree heat. Last night a fire engine drove through and shot people with the water cannon, which actually looked painful.

Of course, I walked off the airport bus with my big bags and became target #1 for the water. By the time I got half-way to the hotel I was completely soaks and I had to put my backpack cover on.

So, for 3 days everything is closed here and I'm once again stuck here. Not so bad, except for the heat and humidity. I'm looking at a plane flight to Cambodia, then overland to Vietnam and overland again to Laos
and Northern Thailand. A big circle that should take about 8 weeks. At least in Cambodia I'll be safe from falling rocks!

Then, maybe Myanmar (Burma) for 4 weeks and then south...we'll see.

Gotta run!

Happy new year!
