Comments: Hi, I'm the one who works with Darren Clarke who told me about your site, last year some time. I check in on a regular basis, because your photos, and descriptions are fantastic! Makes me want to go everywhere you've been.

I noticed a little lapse in the travel for awhile there, and from the France pictures I see why! She is adorable, congratulations. She adds a new element of interest to your photos (and, I'm sure, to the actual trips too!)

Congrats and keep on travellin'

Comments: Why are the Red Squares (where you lived) larger than the Green Squares?

Is the size of the square relative to time spent in that city? I hope it isn't, because that would be silly.

I am hopeful that our future vacations can be planned by the great tour creator Kristen Higgins and executed just as the two of you did in the Galapagos. You are true adventurers and we are living vicariously!

Comments: Hey Jon;

I'd forwarded your travel site to a guy I'd met in Ottawa. His name's Markus and we had been talking about trekking, climbing and about his recent(2004)ascent of Kilimanjaro. He's really interested in talking more with someone who's been to Africa, like yourself and seeing other people's experiences. He would also like to know more about S. America where he's never been...

cheers,
Jan

Just took a look at your latest beautiful photos (why did I stay in Holland?). You have not been sitting stil since may when I last visited this site.

In november I have visited Cuba (yes I have been on the road again, finally) and climbed the stairs where Fidel fell off. Would be an interesting destination for you, enough stuff there for satirical comments.

Also, interesting to see the visitor stats - so Australia is a big favourite. No surprise there.

Waterton Park, Banff and Jasper just look so pristine that I might just have to go there. Any thoughts on what I should do? I'll probably have about 11 or 12 days to roam around the area. Is it the kinda place where I can just get a rental car and explore?

Comments: I liked the photos of uganda and Malawi. Last year I volunteered in Uganda at another orphange school and the photos in Jinja reminded me of th ekids of Kamuzinda also. I hope to return this year and see more of the country and maybe Rwanda. I also sponsor several kids there with world vision and thus got to some very poor areas. I also love the Ugandan people and found them most friendly.

This year I also hope to go to Malawi to visit a child I sponsor there. I hope to do the ferry boat trip to those islands also. Whilst in uganda I bought a small carved chair of an elephant and baby but those you bought in Malawi are far superior. I also think they would be worth carting back to Oz some how.

If you get a moment would you be able to drop me a line on my private box or this question and tell me what part of the country you bought them and how much they were roughly. Thanks very much.

Also by the way that bird in the picture of the man pissing in Kampala which i agree is ver

Comments: Nice site, found a broken link tho, the HOME link is bad from Zambia photos. here's the bad link http://jon_hyatt.com/

A couple of suggestions. Have the links open in the same window and don't overload the viewers screen or make the viewer scroll til the end of time. Especially on the photos pages. These pages take a long time to load so only put a few on a page. Also provide links back home or to the primary page of a section on each and every page.
